A.S.W.T. (= Anglican Social Work Trust)

 

The Anglican Social Work Trust is an independent incorporated charitable trust, set up by the Anglican Parishes of Palmerston North to help meet the needs of the seniors in the community by providing, on a weekly basis:

  • Entertainment
  • Fellowship and Friendship
  • Skill and enjoyment of cards, Scrabble, …
  • …or just sitting and knitting, or bringing other craft
  • Time to enjoy a chat
  • Refreshments
  • Opportunity to learn art skills (painting)

 

AIMS:  “…the alleviation of need or distress or disability of all, irrespective of race or creed in the Palmerston North community and its rural environs …”

Entertainment                Monday  2 – 3pm                     at All Saints

 

Cards, Scrabble etc      Tuesday 9.30 – 11.30 am         at All Saints

 

                                    Thursday 1.30 – 3.30 pm         at Milson Combined Church    

 

                                    Friday  9.30 – 11.30 am           at All Saints

 

Art Class                      1.30 – 3 pm                             at All Saints

 

 

The Friendship Centre is run by two part-time staff and over 25 volunteers.  Three vans belonging to the Trust are used for transport.  The Trust depends on donations from the community and from seniors to cover on-going expenses.
